Country Living Fair

Every fall, Country Living magazine holds a fair in Columbus, Ohio.  I've been 3 out of the last 4 years and it is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  (The year I missed was only because I had given birth days before)  Mom, Aunt Diane, and I left early Friday morning and were there as they opened at 10 am.  We spent all day browsing, shopping, and soaking in the fun atmosphere.  It's held in a historic village (think Conner Prairie-ish) with old buildings, etc.  All the vendors do a great job of decorating and you can find some really cool stuff.
We didn't get through everything and had booths we wanted to revisit the next day by the time they closed at 5:00. We headed to our hotel nearby.  Unfortunately, shortly after checking in, we checked right back out.  We found the accommodations less than desirable (i.e.- a non-smoking room that wreaked of smoke, stains on the comforter, etc.)  Yuck!  We were able to find a room right across the street that was clean and smelled good.  Woohoo!  Plus, it was cheaper!  Bonus!

Here's mom sporting my pregnancy pillow as the newest fashion.  We joked that we were going to send the picture to Dad and tell him she bought a new scarf at the fair.  hahahaha!

Day 2 got off to an interesting start when my check engine light came on after we finished breakfast.  We found a nearby auto shop to run a diagnostic check.  They said it was a minor wiring issue and it wasn't a cause for concern and didn't even charge us for running the test.  Big relief there!  We didn't get to the fair and started until 11:30 but we still had an amazing day and were able to check out everything we wanted to.  We made it home safely and didn't have any issues at all.

I'm so thankful for weekends like these with my mom and aunt.  It was a great girls trip and we had a great time!
