Morning with Kindergartners

Today was my day to volunteer in Ryker's classroom.
I helped the kids complete a project on b and d confusion.  This duo had me cracking up. :-)

I stayed for lunch which is always entertaining.

Jackson joined our goofy pictures and had fun with us.

I've decided if you need a pick-me-up a morning with kindergartners is a great idea.  I received 4 different compliments on my hair, jewelry, and outfit from various girls.  One boy told me I smelled good.  Several kids fought over who got to hold my hand on the way to lunch and who got to sit next to me.  It was hilarious and oh so much fun!

Bike Ride

The weather was so nice today that as soon as we got home from school, we headed out for a bike ride to see the horses.
Ready to head out!

Feeding the horses.

The horses were so happy to see us!

The kids were pretty happy to see the horses too.  :-)

Riella was quite enthralled with them too.

100th Day

Today was the 100th day of school.  The kids were encouraged to create a shirt with a collection of 100 things or dress up in some way.  We opted to dress up as a 100 year old man.  It was nice and easy and pretty darn funny!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

We spent the morning at home and had a late brunch/early lunch before heading downtown to go the Children's Museum.  We haven't been as a family in years and since it was free today we thought we'd try it out.  I naively thought that since most schools were in session today as a makeup day for previous snow days and if we waited til the afternoon it wouldn't be too busy.  It may have been crazier earlier, but it was plenty of crazy when we were there too.  We pushed through a few exhibits before heading out.
We found a quiet corner with this train table and Riella really liked it.

The boys had fun building this statue.
And digging for artifacts.

We headed out after a bit and went to Scotty's Brewhouse for dinner.

The weather was so nice today and we enjoyed some time outside by the fire before heading home.

New Pal Basketball

The annual Dragons Cheer Clinic was today and the girls performed at the basketball game tonight.  We knew several participants including our neighbor and a couple cousins so we decided it was the perfect time to go to a game.
Riella was quite the busybody tonight and was busy squirming around like crazy.

Cam loved the snacks and actually enjoyed watching the game for quite a while before watching shows on Robert's phone instead.  LOL

Ryker had fun hanging with Carson and enjoyed the nachos.

All in all, a good night to get out and support our Dragons.  And hang with some friends and family.  :-)

Nathan and Ashton's Birthday Party

Nathan and Ashton's birthdays are just a year apart, so they had a combined superhero party to celebrate today.

My mother-in-law made a bunch of capes with different superhero logos on them for the kids.  They are so cool.  Cam wore his Green Lantern shirt and got a new cape to match.

They were quite the crew.  Riella's BatGirl cape was beyond cute.

Nathan...err, I mean Batman blowing out his candles.

Captain America loved his cake and went right to town.

It was a super fun party and the kids had a great time playing with everyone.

Double Date

We have been looking forward to a double date with some of our favorite people for a while now.  James and Tessa met us at our house and we headed to the south side for dinner.  Our original pick was packed, so we opted for Kabuto's instead.  It was yummy and we got done just in time to make it to the movie on time.

American Sniper came out today and we couldn't wait to see it.  It is an intense movie, but so good.  It was very realistic and raw emotionally and truly showed what deployments do to our military personnel and their families.  The movie was in the middle of an intense battle scene where they Seals are surrounded by insurgents and under heavy fire when a sandstorm kicks up and they are trying to reach the convoys safely and get back to base.  In the midst of this, we begin hearing in the crowd of viewers behind us, "Call 911!.......She's not breathing!" The movie was still playing and the lights were still off.  I'll be honest, my initial thought was that some lunatic had a gun.  Scared me half to death!  They finally paused the movie and turned the lights on.  A young girl in her 20s was having a seizure!  The EMTS came and she quit seizing after a while and was able to wobbily make it down the steps and out of the theater.  It was so scary!  After all the chaos, they rewound the movie and we were able to finish it.  Phew! I will say it was the most intense movie viewing experience of my life!

I adore this girl and am so thankful for our friendship.

We have so much fun together!

Let's Go Colts!

Ready for the playoff game!

Cutest cheerleader!

Robert got to go to the game but snuck in a pic with his girl before he left.

Jay just got her license and came to visit us today and stayed to watch the game.  The boys seriously adore her and had so much fun with her.  They both cried when she had to leave!
