Tuesdays with Spangler's

We went up to Michelle's new house today for the tour.  She's asked for help in getting it decorated so she wanted to show me what spaces she was working on and what I thought would work.  Then we hit up her neighborhood pool.

Riella all ready to go swimming.  This was her first time in a pool.

And, she loved it!

Splashed and kicked like crazy.

My little fish!

Cam and Ryker both loved it too.  Ryker was pumped to show off his newly acquired skills from swim lessons and didn't come up for air but every once in a while.

Father's Day

We laid low this morning and let Robert relax and enjoy his day.  I was busy catching up on laundry and household chores that had gone undone during the craziness of garage sale prep this week.  Mom came by in the morning to drop off some stuff and kindly took a cranky Camden home with her for the afternoon. We went to Mom and Dad's in the evening for dinner with them and Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy.

Riella enjoyed her first tractor ride.

The boys loved chasing Papaw.

Riella always enjoys time with Grandma.

I always enjoy time with my dad.  I'm so thankful for him!

And for my grandpa.  What a legacy of faith and leadership he has built for our family!

Brown Family Cookout

We rushed around getting everything from the garage sale packed up and put away in time for the Brown's to come over for a cookout.  We celebrated Father's Day and Robert's birthday today.
All the sisters and the babies.

All the siblings and the babies.  I realized for the first time that the babies were born to the siblings in the same order of their birth.  Too cute!

Nonna and all the babies.

Queen bought the kids some gear for July 4th.  We put them all in it today and took pics.  Cuties!

Jay is Robert's cousin's daughter.  She was our flower girl and is about the sweetest thing ever.  She turns 16 next week so we celebrated her too. :-)

Cam was upset he didn't get to hold Riella. Poor Buddy.

A family shot.

Garage Sale

I've been hoarding stuff for a garage sale for months now.  I started sorting and pricing this week and we prepared for a monstrous garage sale.

My neighbor put in a ton of stuff along with my mom and two of my aunts.  We had it both Friday and Saturday.  It was a ton of work but also lots of fun.

Ryker, Camden, Carson, Amelia, and I all made homemade chocolate chips to sell with bottled water.  The sun was too bright for Ryker. :-)

He did have fun playing with Carson and Amelia's old toys though.  He was funny!

When a lull came in the afternoon, Amber decided to give Riella her first pedicure.

I couldn't believe how well she held still.  They were pretty cute when they were done.

Italian Festival

Mom and Dad come over tonight to watch the kids and we had a double date night to celebrate Robert's big 30th birthday.
Up first, the Italian Festival.  It's always the same weekend as his birthday and it's a tradition to go every year.  He loves it, and I, well, I love him.

It was a fun night with friends.  We were reminiscing about how last year at the Italian Festival was the first time we really hung out as friends.  It's been a great year getting to know Clint and Amber and we are very thankful for their friendship.

After eating way too much food at the Italian Festival we decided to walk over to Fountain Square and explore a bit.  We stopped at Fountain Square Brewery.

Robert did a tasting.  He wasn't a big fan of any of the beers but it was a fun experience.

We walked around for a while longer and then went up to the Rooftop Garden.

The view was spectacular. The fireworks from the Indians game were going off and we had a great view.

The view was so great we had to get some more couples shots.

As we walked back to the car, Amber spotted a 24 hour diner with a sign for biscuits and gravy and before you knew it, we were in there sitting down.  Robert loves biscuits and gravy but I can't stand the way they smell and refuse to cook them.  He was thrilled to get some for his birthday.  It was rather late by now and I thought a little snack might be nice so I ordered a short stack thinking two small softball-sized pancakes would come out.  This is what I go instead!

They were chocolate chip and they were delicious! And cheap!  All 4 of us ate for $12!!

We had such a fun night celebrating my favorite guy.

Robert's Big 3-0!

Today was Robert's 30th birthday.  He slept in late and then we all had homemade coffee cake while he opened his gift.  He got a new Blu-Ray player that he's been wanting for a while.

We had a low-key day hanging around home before I made a big meal full of Robert's favorites for dinner.  We are waiting to celebrate in a bigger way this weekend, but Robert said it was just how he wanted to spend his day.  :-)

Sunday Funday

All ready for church.

We came home after church and grilled out and played outside.  At 4:00 we headed up north for Aunt Karen's birthday dinner.  Cam fell asleep chewing his shirt.  Weirdo!

Happy Birthday Aunt Karen!

Riella and Nana matched today.  Riella was so happy she was squirming all about and wouldn't hold still for a picture.

After dinner we loaded up on the bikes for a ride.

Little Miss loved it!

We stopped the feed the horses.

This horse is always super friendly and comes right to the fence every time.

We rode to a nearby park and let the kids play.  It takes her a while to warm up to the swing, but then she loves it.

It was a gorgeous night and we had the park to ourselves.

Cam is a beast on this swinging course.

Cutie pie!

Such a fun day spent together as a family. :-)
