Sleeping Adventures

If you follow me on Instagram you are probably familiar with Ryker's crazy sleeping habits.  After we returned from vacation, Camden started climbing out of his crib.  This is the point in which he began to follow in his big brother's footsteps in the sleep department.

The crib climbing started on Robert's birthday.  He had the pleasure of taking the front off the crib and converting it at about 10:00 at night

Cam thought he was pretty cool.

Apparently it wasn't cool enough to sleep in though, since after holding the door closed and listening to him scream for about 20 minutes I found him asleep in the chair.

The next night wasn't much different, only he just slept right on the floor by the door.

The late nights got to him and he was falling asleep on my by mid-morning.

Or on his Nana while shopping.

After much begging on Ryker's part, we decided to try letting Cam sleep in Ryker's room.  We are moving them in together soon enough anyway so we thought we'd try it out.  They were both thrilled and Camden didn't cry for the first time in several nights.

Nap times were a bit harder and he was back to sleeping on the floor.

This was on Father's Day.  He couldn't last til nap time and fell asleep on the couch.

He even stayed asleep the entire car ride to Robert's aunt's house and on my for about 25 minutes after we got there. 

This was the last night we tried the boys together.  As time went on, they weren't so good about sharing a bed and kept getting out of the room so we chose to separate them for the time being.

And Cam went back falling asleep in the chair.  This kills my neck just looking at it!

Cam was sick recently and ended up in our bed early one morning before falling back asleep.  This pic of him with a pillow cracks me up.  He hugs it just like  Robert does.

It's a.....

Today was our big ultrasound where they check all the anatomy and you can find out the gender.  We were the first appointment of the day and super pumped to get there.  Aunt Karen graciously came to the house to watch the boys and we were off.  I was so excited and anxious I couldn't even eat! 

Robert and I were goofing off in the waiting room as we waited to be called back.

 

So, we got back to the room with our favorite ultrasound tech and we were chatting and catching up.  She started prepping me and asked if we were finding out gender, etc.  As she put the jelly on my stomach she asked if I had a feeling on what it was.  As I said, "Actually, I think it's a girl.  I'm not sure why, but it's just a feeling..."  I was mid-sentence and saying something about it seeming weird that I thought it was a girl and not another boy as she put the wand on and within two seconds, while I'm still talking she says, "It is!!!"  I let out a little yelp out of shock.  I could hardly believe it!  With both of the boys the gender wasn't revealed until much later in the ultrasound so to find out within a matter of seconds was crazy!

Everything checked out great.  All the anatomy and fluids looked perfect.  Her heartrate was at 153 bpm.  I saw the Dr. afterwards.  I'd lost some weight at the beginning of the pregnancy and I've now gained that back.  They were glad to see that.  (Me, eh...not so much.)  I know how quickly the weight comes on in the end and I'm really trying not to gain much at all this time around.  I'm sure it won't work out that way, but I'm trying!  My blood pressure was 110/68

 

Unfortunately, I can't get the video of us revealing the gender to the boys to upload.  Basically we put some pink gems in a red balloon and hung it from our fan in the back porch over a drop cloth.  Robert popped it and the boys watched as little pink gems fell all around them.  We had Ryker guess one more time what he thought it was and he said pink.  No surprise there!  He was pretty excited when he saw all that pink.

This boy is one excited big brother!  He's been praying for a little sister since September at least.  He was very specific that he wanted a girl.  I was thrilled to tell him his prayers had been answered.  :-)

Aunt Karen came back over in the evening and so did Nana and Papaw.  They had all done some shopping and brought Little Miss her first clothes.  I about died over the cuteness of them and fawned over them way more I think is normal, but I can't help it.  Robert is just as into it and loving looking through everything.  She's spoiled already!

VBS

This week was our church's Vacation Bible School.  This year's them was Athens: Paul's Dangerous Journey.  I bought the cd a couple weeks ago and we've been jamming out in the van in prep for the week.  Ryker's cousins, Ashlyn and Carter, joined him. They all had a great time and learned so much!  Tonight was the closing program where the kids sing some of the songs and they show a video of the adventures throughout the week.

 

Ryker and Carter did a great job during the program.  Ashlyn performed with the elementary students and I couldn't find her in the crowd!

 

They had a contest during the week to see whether the boys or girls could raise more money for the Hancock County Food Pantry.  Despite Ryker bringing in his piggy bank money, the girls won.  This meant Pastor Kris and Pastor Hubert both had to kiss a farm animal.  It was hilarious and all the kids loved it!

The series of pictures I took here was hilarious.  The boy were complete goofballs and Ashlyn and her sweet friend sat there perfectly posed and smiling throughout all the chaos. 

Ryker and Tucker have been buds since birth and were in the same group this year.  They had a great week!

We had to get a pic with some of Ryker's favorite girls.  Unfortunately, Rubes had already fallen asleep!  I can't blame her, it was a long week!

I took Ryker to Frosty Boy as a special treat to cap off a great week!

 

Italian Festival

For as long as Robert and I have been together, we've gone to the Italian Festival every summer.  Last year it was cancelled and we were quite bummed.  It was back this year and we couldn't wait to go!  We invited our neighbors along last minute and they followed us down with their two kiddos, Carson and Amelia.  Carson is about 6 months younger than Ryker and played on his soccer team this spring.  They get along great!  Amelia is a year older than Cam and they have a great time together too.  We have loved having neighbors with young kids and are really enjoying getting to know them.

They seriously had a great time.  There was live music and all the kids were dancing like crazy!

Strawberry Festival

The Strawberry Festival was going on downtown on the circle today. We decided to meet Daddy for lunch and walk over. We enjoyed some yummy strawberry shortcake and sandwiches from Potbelly. It was all so delicious and a great summer treat. The kids love exploring downtown and seeing Daddy's office. We went upstairs after we finished eating to say hi to Robert's coworkers. Ryker was in full show-off mode and entertained them all quite well.

They had a band playing which Cam thoroughly enjoyed.

It was a long day and they both crashed on the way home!

Robert's Birthday

Robert had the day off today for his birthday so decided to go to the park with the boys in the morning.  We love Southeastway Park and it isn't far from the new house which is great.

We decided to take Tuck with us.  Cam loves holding his leash.

Robert and the boys (Tucker included) were a bit crazy on this thing.  They had a great time spinning around like crazy.

We went for a "hike" on one of the trails in the woods. 

My mom came to the house after work and watched the boys so Robert and I could go to dinner.  We had a few coupons for On the Border and it's one of our faves so that's where we went.  It was yummy and it's always fun to spend some one on time together. :-)
