Double Date

We've been planning a double date with the Wolsiffer's for a while now.  Today was the big day.  Tessa and I decided since both of our husbands like to shoot and neither of us know how, we'd let them take us out and show us how to shoot.  I've wanted to learn for a long time now.  James has a friend with a bunch of land nearby that was kind enough to let us use it to set up a little range.  It was the perfect place and we had a blast!
Tessa was up first on the AR 15.  We tried it first laid out in the back of James' truck.

I went next and loved it.  Once I got the hang of the scope, it was easy as pie.

We pretty much rocked it! ;-)

We tried the AR standing up next.  It wasn't too bad, but much harder to line up things in the scope while standing.

Up next were the handguns.  I shot a .9mm Luger.  We switched at the end.  Tessa had a Glock.  Hers didn't kick back as much as mine but I liked the grip on mine better.

The men thought it was the best date ever.

A little Charlie's Angels action. ;-)

After we got done shooting, we cleaned up and headed downtown for dinner at South of Chicago for some super yummy pizza then back to James and Tessa's to hang by the bonfire for a while.  It was a great night and we can't wait to do it again soon!

Camden's 1st Day of School

Camden was set to start school last week but was up the entire night before with ear pain and we ended up at the doctor getting a prescription for an ear infection instead.  He bounced back quickly and he was ready to go today.  Well, he was healthy anyway.  He has still been saying, "I no go school.  I stay home with Mommy." every time the subject gets brought up.
Getting a picture was a bit difficult too.

He's 2! (For a few more weeks).

Finally, a good one!  Woohoo!

His backpack kills me!

He got to sit up front with me in the dropoff line.  He was all smiles until it was our turn.  He cried and clung to my arm.  It ripped my heart out.  Thankfully, my awesome friend Nikki is the assistant in his class and sent me a text less than 5 minutes later with a picture of him in the classroom and said no tears.  I was able to dry mine up and headed to Aunt Karen's to clean.  She sent me another during snack time and said he was doing great.  He was so excited when I picked him up and couldn't wait to tell me all about what he'd done.  He had so much fun!

We picked up lunch and took it over to Grandma's.  We ate with her and played for a while before heading home for naps.

Fantasy Football Draft

Today we hosted Draft Day for our Fantasy Football league.  We play with 6 other couples from church.  This is our 4th year.  It's always a lot of fun and we enjoy trash talking each other at church.  ;-)

It's such a fun group and we have a great time with it.

1st Fall Ball Game

All ready for his first game as a Red!

He was the first one to bat for our team today.

First pitch and boom baby!

Apple Orchard

Aunt Kate and the boys were in town and came over this morning to play for a bit.

These two are so adorable and sweet together!

Riella is a stinker and was chewing on Cord's paci.  Thankfully, he didn't seem to mind.

We grabbed lunch at Mama Nita's in town before heading down to the apple orchard.

Kate agree to do Cam's 3 year pics while we were there.  It was super hot, but he was fairly cooperative and I'm certain she got some good ones.

Riella was so pumped to have an apple to chew on all to herself!

Getting the big boys to look at us proved to be difficult.

And one more because she's so cute.  Kate took this on her big camera.  I just love it!

Zoo Day

We decided last minute to head to the zoo today.
We started off at White River Gardens.  Cam loves spotting and chasing butterflies so it was fun for him to see so many up close.

Checking out his wingspan compared to a bat.  We read Stellaluna recently (a book about a baby bat who gets separated from its mom and lives with a family of birds) and he loved seeing the bats in person.  He thinks the way they sleep upside down is funny.

Riella was such a trooper today.  She was so content in the stroller and it allowed me to really focus on Camden which is nice to do sometimes.

We had such a fun day!

Sawyer's Train Party

Sawyer celebrated his 2nd birthday with a train party.  They had a trackless train with multiple cars that could take the kids for rides through the neighborhood.  It was a major hit!
Ryker and Robert came for a bit before leaving to go to the Colts preseason game.  Ryker enjoyed a train ride before he left though.
Cam and Coop took a ride together too.

Riella and I joined.  :-)

Riella and Barrett are just a day apart in age and were so cute together tonight.

All the kids with their conductor hats and train whistles at the end of the party.

It was a great party with lots of fun and friends!

State Fair

Robert met us at home as Ryker was getting off the bus and we loaded up and went to the State Fair for the night.  I always love going and the kids love it too.  Robert, well, he tolerates it for us. ;-)

The Horse Whisperer

Fishing in the Boy Scout area

Making a rop

Shooting an air gun.  He had 6 bullets and 5 targets.  Got all of them over but 1.  Looks like his session with Papaw did him good.

Little Hands on the Farm.  My favorite!

Riella was getting sleepy.

My wholesome crew.

That's his hardened criminal face.  HA!

That's more like it.  Love my sweet boy!

Favorite Activities

One of our favorite activities right now is to take a bike ride to see the horses and cows and stop at the park.
We stopped to feed to horses for a bit today.  Camden just loves them.
When we arrived at the park, I got off the bike to get the kids out and opened up the trailer to see Cam back there kissing Riella's hand and sweet talking her.  He's a wild man, but he has a heart of gold.

He's a beast on this!

We played for a long time and even met a new friend.  She's actually the cousin of a friend of mine and her son will be going to preschool on Tuesdays too (just in the older class).
